Updates of my time in Norway and the UK

View Around the world :-) on Kaia's travel map.

So, its taken me a couple of weeks before I managed to write again. Since I'm a bit manic, I feel the urge to give you an overview of my travels so far, in order to be able to continue and write about the present.

I left home 5 weeks ago, and hopefully you'll be able to view the map and see where I've been. The first weekend I went to visit my friend Hanne in Trondheim, and that was really nice. We just hang out together, and we actually bought gay umbrellas! Now, you might wonder what that is. We found ourselves in the need of getting umbrellas, thus ran into H&M to find some. There we managed to find the coolest umbrellas ever!- they were rainbow coloured, and a lot of people tend to call the rainbow flag the gay flag, hence we ended up calling it the gay umbrellas! Hopefully I'll be able to upload the pictures of them soon, so everyone can admire them :)

After Trondheim I headed for Oslo where I stayed for a week. My main priority whilst being there was to spend time with my friends, and I realised then that I acually had a few... I spent a lot of time with Lina and Sirianne, and Torunn, Gunhild and Maja who were my flatmates in the last flat I lived in. I also went back to the kindergarden I worked in, and it was so lovely to see all the children (and to see they remembered me!) and the people I worked with again. I did feel a bit like a yoyo trying to run around to say goodbye to everyone, but it was great to be able to spend time with people and not having to work every day!

The next destination after Oslo was London. I stayed with Sophie for 4 nights, and we had such a relaxing time. We literally did nothing but sleep, eat good food and drink wine and enjoying happy hour! It was really the most holiday like time I've had whilst traveling! Then Clio came down to London, and Sophie and I went to stay with her in Camden. Oh, if you ever go out in Camden; make sure you go to the bar at the back of Marathon the kebab shop! It was hilarious! This sweaty guy was so persistent of dancing with Sophie, so she was pretty soaked at the end of the night... :p

After London, I went up to Durham to visit Clio. Durham is a cute, little university town in the North of England. At Durham I also saw Alex, Meghna and Sam from AC, and that was nice. Clio and I Megabussed together up to Edinburgh where we met a lot of AC people and stayed with Will and Helen. Great to get free accomodation from you guys! ;)

Thereafter it was the AC reunion in London, so unfortunately for the poor environment, I took a plane down there from Scotland. It was very nice to see people again, and it seems like it's so easy to connect again, even though it's bee 1 1/2 since I've seen most of my co-years. Hmmm...for those of you who reads this (if anyone is actually reading this...) didn't go to AC, it means Atlantic College, the name of the United World College I went to in Wales. The only bad thing about the whole time in the UK was that I fucking managed to lose my VISA card! It must've happened at the reunion, and I swear I'll never drink a lot ever again! Not that much at least...happy hour is a killer for sure... Luckily I had another card with me, so it wasn't that big of a crisis.

Well, I feel really happy now, cause I've managed to update you about the 3 first weeks of my travels, so you'll soon get the rest of the story and hear what I'm doing at the moment. But right now I have to get the train to Chicago, and after that I'm taking Amtrak for 20 hours to get to Andrea in Colorado Spring!
